Horizons Unbound

A camera carried through work, travel and changing horizons.

Miroslav is a photographer from Serbia whose archive grew alongside years of international travel and humanitarian work.

At the heart of my work are not landmarks, but people, everyday gestures, distant landscapes and the quiet details most often passed without pause. I do not see photography as proof that I was somewhere, but as a trace of attention—an attempt to preserve what time would otherwise erase: a glance, dust on a road, the light before rain, or the way a place breathed at a particular moment. I do not want to make it more beautiful than it is, but to show how I experienced it—not only what it looked like, but what it felt like to be there.

The published archive currently includes work from Nigeria, the Central African Republic, Zimbabwe and Mozambique, while the wider Horizons Unbound project remains open to new places and future series.

Approach

“I do not photograph places to prove where I have been, but to preserve what would otherwise be forgotten over time.”

Notes from the road

On attention, memory and what remains beyond the postcard.

01My favourite frames are often the ones no one else would even notice—because they explain something to me that maps and apps cannot show.
02I do not try to make a place look more beautiful than it is, but to preserve it as I saw it.
